Reutlingen - The district court of Reutlingen is currently employed. The 42-year-old Aymen F. is probably the first defendant in Germany to consume alcohol during his procedure in the courtroom. He caused a sensation with an iced tea bottle filled with schnapps by using it again and again.

Since entering Germany in 2013, Aymen F. has had a considerable criminal career. In total, he has been convicted 17 times so far and spent several time in prison. His offenses include seven cases of drunkenness in road traffic and three thefts. In addition, he was prosecuted for dangerous bodily harm, property damage and trespass. The iced tea bottle he brought to court was confiscated and kept in the advisory room for evidence.
As a spokeswoman for the regional council explained, Aymen F. has been obliged to leave Germany since mid -2023, but has not yet complied with this request. The lack of valid travel documents that make deporting difficult. After all, he already has an expired passport, but needs a new one to make the departure.

A week later, the negotiation continued without the schnapps bottle. Interestingly, Aymen F. did not want to get back the confiscated bottle. He claimed no longer drinking alcohol and declared that he had bought the stolen e-bike at a flea market for 500 euros.The judgment in this case is expected on October 9th. Aymen F. threatens a year in prison, but possibly accommodation in a withdrawal institution or deportation may also be considered. The decision will show how the court reacts to the various aspects of the case.
