Attention, pickpockets: Several raids at Steinfurt station!

Bahnhof, Rheine, Deutschland - In the past few weeks, the police in Steinfurt have found an alarming increase in handbags at the train station and bus meeting. Two incidents occurred on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. An older woman was robbed in the morning after taking out cash and was waiting at the bus meeting. Only at home did she notice the loss of her wallet and informed the police.

In the early afternoon, a witness watched a suspicious woman reaching into the pocket of another older lady who was also waiting at the bus meeting. The perpetrator escaped when the victim entered the C1 line. The police are now looking for the victim and describes them as about 1.65 meters tall, with gray hair and a gray jacket. The officials ask witnesses or the injured party to report on 05971/938-4215. In order to avoid such incidents, the police advise special caution in crowds of people and recommends to be safely stowed and attentive to valuables.
