On Monday, May 12, 2025, the Speyer police were called to the theft in an electronics shop in Wormser Landstrasse. A damaged person reported that his backpack was stolen from a locker. Thanks to an air day, the injured party was able to localize the backpack in a residential building in Schützenstrasse.

The police immediately took up investigations and went to the house. By playing a sound from the location device, the source of the sound of a certain apartment was assigned. There, a 45-year-old man opened the door without being asked and handed over the stolen backpack to the officials. The accused was brought to the police station, where he was treated. Criminal proceedings for theft are now being initiated against him.
