Alcoholized driver rams the stop - escape ends in arrest!

On Friday evening, February 14, 2025, a 37-year-old man in the city center broke into a tram stop at Jakobertorplatz with his rental car. Shortly after 10:45 p.m., while he drove alcoholized towards Jakobertor, he lost control and crashed into a stop railing. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

After the shocking incident, the driver fled the scene of the accident, but was quickly taken up by the police nearby. During the check, it smelled significantly of alcohol, and a breath alcohol test resulted in alarming 1.9 per thousand. The officials immediately took care of blood and prevented the driver from continuing. The police are now investigating the 37-year-old because of the endangerment of road traffic and unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident.
