Drivers in Hellersdorf attacked by drunk and accomplice!
On the night of Tuesday, a driver in Hellersdorf was attacked by two men while waiting at a red traffic light. The 33-year-old and his wife were sitting in her Hyundai at the Riesaer Straße/Leisniger Straße/Louis-Lewin-Straße intersection, when the attackers, including a 35-year-old, went on the vehicle, stepped onto the outside mirrors and insulted the driver. Suddenly the perpetrator hit the driver through the open window with a punch.
After the incident, the driver locked his Hyundai and alerted the police. While the 35-year-old remained nearby until the emergency services arrived and was arrested, his accomplice escaped. A breath alcohol test produced alarming 2.3 per thousand. After a detection and blood sample, the suspect was allowed to continue despite his drunkenness. Both victims of the attack were severely affected, but refused medical treatment. The police continue to investigate.
