Fraudulent shock call: Police Witzenhausen raises the alarm!

In Witzenhausen, the police raise the alarm: Several citizens were victims of "shock calls", in which fraudsters pretend to be police officers or representatives of law enforcement authorities. These unscrupulous crooks claim that relatives are in trouble after a serious traffic accident and would have to pay a high deposit to avoid a prison sentence. Fortunately, so far all the people mentioned have looked through the stitch, and luckily there were no financial losses.

The police give urgent tips to protect themselves from such attempts to fraud. If in doubt, she advises to call the alleged authority to check the correctness of the information. Important note: Neither the police nor the public prosecutor require deposit payments in an accident. Citizens are asked to never hand over money or valuables to strangers and to report suspicious calls to the police immediately.
