Fall after the accident: 85-year-old pays a high sum, police are looking for witnesses!

On May 14, 2025, a spectacular traffic accident occurred in the parking lot of a supermarket in Pößneck. An 85-year-old woman drove her Opel Corsa into a supposed accident with two men, who finally persuaded her to hand over a considerable amount of money for the damage settlement-much more than the actual damage. Instead of a police accident recording, she waived the formalities, assuming that the matter is uncomplicated.

Now there is an urgent suspicion that this woman's driver was the victim of a fraud. Such frauds in which accidents are faked or deliberately brought about in order to capture high sums of money are widespread. The police are calling witnesses who saw something on the day between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. in the parking lot between an Opel Corsa and a brown panel van. In particular, we are looking for information about one of the two men described as a Mediterranean type, approx. 180 cm tall and slim, dressed in a baseball cap and work clothes.
