Digital turn: Mönchengladbach police stop paper files!
Digital turn: Mönchengladbach police stop paper files!
From today, March 24th, the paper files will be history with the police in NRW! All criminal complaints are now only processed digitally. This is a revolutionary step towards complete digitization of the police, which is made possible by the changes to the Code of Criminal Procedure (StPO). By January 1, 2026, all files in criminal matters must be kept electronically - a clear gain in efficiency!
The authorities expect significant resource savings because the manual exchange of files with the public prosecutor does not apply. As early as 2022, the NRW police introduced the internet guard, which enables citizens to conveniently reimburse advertisements from home and thus avoid waiting times. The times of the paper files are over - now you will start digitally! Always remember: quickly choose 110 in emergencies or pressing cases!
