Dresden police smash violent youth group 212!
The Dresden police have successfully smashed a violent youth group called "212", which was responsible for a number of raids in the south of Dresden. A total of two ringleaders, a 14-year-old German-Jordanian and an 18-year-old Syrian, were taken into custody. The group first appeared at the beginning of January 2025 when she robbed two young people in a residential building. In the following weeks, similar crimes were piled up, which caused the police to quickly intervene.
The first main actor was arrested on January 14, followed by the arrest of the second ring leader only five days later. The investigators of the special commission Iuventus were able to identify most of the members of the group and are currently conducting discussions with suspected young people. Police President Lutz Rodig emphasized the importance of early intervention in order to solve young perpetrators from their criminal environment. The Dresden police are confident that the "212" group no longer exists.
