In a tragic incident in Velbert, a five -year -old girl was hit by a car on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 and suffered life -threatening injuries. The child was immediately looked after by two random first aiders, including a police officer on duty. Rescue workers brought the girl to a special clinic with a helicopter where they are treated intensive medicine.

The police blocked the accident site for the duration of the investigation and used emergency pastors and the police victim protection to support the supervising first aiders, witnesses and relatives. The girl's condition remains critical, while the investigation into the course of the accident continues.
