ATM in Ronsdorf blown up: perpetrators on the run!

In the early morning of February 17, 2025, an ATM in Ronsdorf was blown up. At around 2:20 a.m., residents heard a deafening bang from the SB bank branch on Lüttringhauser Straße. Witnesses reported three to four masked people who fled after the explosion in a dark vehicle, probably a VW Golf. During the flight, the vehicle collided with a nearby business.

The amount of property damage at the bank branch is still unclear, and it is currently uncertain whether the perpetrators escaped with prey. The police have initiated a comprehensive search, but so far no suspects have been arrested. The residents of the affected house had to be accommodated in a bus provided, while a structural engineer checked the building for safety. Lüttringhauser Straße remained closed during the investigation and clean -up work. The criminal police have meanwhile started the investigation.
