On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, officials from the Birkenfeld police inspection, supported by forces from the police headquarters, carried out traffic controls on federal road 41. 13 drivers were caught at excessive speed within just two hours. Particularly striking: A driver raced through the permitted zone of 70 km/h at 115 km/h - he now threatens an administrative offense procedure and a driving ban!

The police emphasize that excessive speed is one of the main causes for accidents, especially outside of closed towns. In order to increase safety on the streets, these control measures will continue to be carried out in the future.
