Young people steal e-scooters and ignite in Offenburg!

On Tuesday evening, strangers spent a fiery chaos in Steinstrasse near the large sports hall and set fire to the outer wall of a warehouse with fuel. Fortunately, there was no significant damage. When the police arrived, the officials found only an empty fuel container. Witnesses reported on several fleeing young people who were partly on electric scooters.

The police's search measures were intense with the use of a helicopter. At 9:50 p.m. this reported a suspicious electric scooter driver on Thomas-Mann-Straße. Shortly afterwards, a strip crew in Geppertstraße met a 17-year-old suspect. It is unclear whether he was actually involved in the arson. Nevertheless, it turned out that the adolescent's scooter, worth almost 900 euros, was stolen in Rastatt in early January 2025. Investigations for theft were initiated against the teenager.
