Carnival in the Borken district: Thousands of celebrations, the police have to intervene!

Südlohn, Deutschland - Last weekend, thousands of people celebrated happily at the street carnival in the Borken district while the sun was shining. Most events were peaceful - but the police still had a lot to do. In Südlohn, around 4,000 celebrations flocked to the carnival parade, where there were several missions, including criminal proceedings for assault and resistance to the police. Two people were taken into custody and seven references were granted.

in Rhede, the officials expected around 17,000 spectators on Sunday. Here the balance was significantly more serious: 18 references, three incoming, as well as criminal measures for pickpocketing and assault were required. In Schöppingen, where about 10,000 people gathered, there were police operations with eight references and two arrests. In the event of an incident, a police officer even suffered a minor injury. Despite these incidents, the mood at most events remained positive and exuberant.
