Risk in Zerbster Straße: Fire through cannabis cultivation!

Zerbster Straße, 06366 Köthen (Anhalt), Deutschland - on Friday evening, February 14, 2025, a devastating fire broke out in an apartment of an apartment building on Zerbster Strasse. Around 6:30 p.m. the police alerted after Rauch entered the stairwell and an neighboring apartment. A 37-year-old resident was saved from his smoky apartment and luckily only suffered minor injuries.

It turned out during the investigation that the 41-year-old apartment owner was not at home at the time of the fire and allegedly prepared a room for the cultivation of cannabis plants. The property damage amounts to around 100,000 euros and the affected apartment is no longer habitable. The police have initiated investigations into negligent arson, negligent bodily harm and violations of the Consumer Cannabis Act. The fire site was blocked and the investigations on the exact cause continue.
