Nollendorfplatz, 10963 Berlin, Deutschland - Yesterday afternoon there was a terrifying incident at the Nollendorfplatz underground station in Schöneberg. A 45-year-old man threatened several security employees with a knife without warning. Around 12:10 p.m. he suddenly jumped towards them, which caused the security forces to withdraw and alert the police. Two police officers who happened to be nearby quickly took the situation.

The emergency services pulled their service weapons and asked the man to drop the knife, which he finally did. The arrest immediately followed. The suspect was then brought to a police station to determine his identity and transferred to a psychiatric institution because of its conspicuous behavior. According to a medical assessment, he was released. Now the 45-year-old is faced with a weapon for threats, while the investigation by police department 4 is still ongoing.
