Cyclists under pressure: Police conduct large controls in Speyer!

As part of a large -scale control campaign on Wednesday morning, the police in Speyer increasingly targeted cyclists. Between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., several checkpoints were set up in Gilgenstraße, Wormser Straße and Wormser Landstrasse. The result? Ten cyclists had to be asked to checkout due to illegal use of the sidewalk, while a particularly brazen driver was even caught with the cell phone at the wheel. Another cyclist, obviously under the influence of intoxicating means, had to give a blood sample.

But that wasn't all! From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the police carried out speed measurements in Siemensstrasse and in the industrial area around Stockholmer Strasse. A total of 30 violations were registered here-the fastest driver was a Turkish truck driver who, at a breathtaking 80 km/h instead of the permitted 50 km/h, rapidly preceded! The speed traps also flash on Stockholmer Straße, which could strike here eight times, while a driver even raced over the permitted speed at 100 km/h. Two other vehicles were objected to due to the lack of documents. Clear message: The police have an eye on traffic safety!
