In a dramatic incident in Stuttgart, a 35-year-old man was arrested on Friday evening after he had supposedly tried to rob a 72-year-old woman's handbag. The perpetrator attacked the senior citizen around 6:45 p.m. in the underpass of the Föhrichstrasse Stadtbahn stop, where he struck her several times after stopping.

A 66-year-old passer-by who became aware of the calls for help followed the attacker, but she too was victim of his violence and was also beaten. Both women suffered minor injuries and were medical care on site. The police were able to arrest the aggressive suspect a short time later. He has the Serbian nationality and was brought up to the judge on Saturday, who issued an arrest warrant and who was involved in a correctional facility. Witnesses of the incident are asked to report to the criminal police.
