Rapid chase in Gummersbach: Young people flee after accident!

On Wednesday evening, January 29, the police in Bomig experienced a dramatic chase after a patrol car crew discovered an Audi that had previously been stolen in Gummersbach-Vollmerhausen. The vehicle was driven with stolen license plates. The driver ignored the stop and raced from it. The persecution ended at the confluence with Bielsteiner Straße / Höhenweg, where the fleeting driver collided with a Tesla who was primarily on the move. Five inmates of the Audis fled on foot.

Thanks to quick police work, two young people aged 14 and 17 were immediately arrested. A 15-year-old passenger returned to the scene of the accident. With the support of a police helicopter, another 17-year-old was found in a nearby forest. The 15-year-old driver, who came back two hours later and was under the influence of drugs, had to undergo a blood sample. Fortunately, no one was injured in the spectacular incident and the stolen car was secured. The youngsters were finally handed over to their legal guardians.
