Rastatt in chaos: heavy rain and fallen trees ensure traffic chaos
heavy rain meets Rastatt - trees block traffic
A violent heavy rain has hit the city of Rastatt strongly and led to numerous problems. Around 100 cases of flooding were reported, which made many roads impassable. Trees fell over and blocked vehicles, which led to significant disabilities in traffic. The police were forced to stop patrols because the streets were dangerously smooth due to the heavy rains.
The official warning of the difficult weather was unfortunately too late after the heavy rain had already used. Although signs of the storm were found in weather apps, nobody had expected such violent effects. The sudden rains led to flooded streets, full basements and overloaded wastewater systems. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far, but considerable damage to property is expected.
The effects of the storm in Rastatt were also noticeable in the neighboring city of Offenburg. The entire Baden-Württemberg region suffered from uncomfortable weather, which led to a high number of flood cases in Rastatt. The fallen trees blocked several streets and caused disorders in traffic. The local police were busy redirecting the traffic to redirect the affected areas and bringing the situation under control.
