Rain shower leads to motorcycle accidents on Wiesbaden's highway
Sunday was a truly uncomfortable day for motorcyclists in the Wiesbaden area. The constant rains led to a dangerous risk of slipping on the streets, which was clearly evident in several accidents on the A66 motorway. The police reported various falls that were owed to the weather and the tragedy behind these events shows how important it is to be particularly careful in such conditions.
At around 3:30 p.m. the first accident at Erbenheim occurred when a motorcyclist lost the hold on the slippery road in the direction of Frankfurt. His motorcycle slipped, and fortunately the driver was unharmed, the motorcycle had a total damage. The police found that the vehicle's tires were in a questionable condition, which also tightened the situation. The damage to property was estimated at around 2500 euros, a clear sign of how quickly the costs can skyrocket if security is not guaranteed.
additional incidents and their consequences
Another misfortune happened around 4:15 p.m. when a 17-year-old moped driver slipped towards Frankfurt at the Weilbach rest area. Here, too, there was no third -party fault - the wet roads were the culprit. The young driver suffered minor injuries and damage of around 1,000 euros was caused. Such incidents remind us that even smaller companions such as mopeds can recover serious risks in difficult weather conditions.
The police use these events to point out the importance of good vehicle maintenance. In particular, tires that have direct contact with the road should always be in perfect condition. Slip -like surfaces, such as the rain, can get even experienced drivers in danger. It is advised to adapt your own speed and to adapt the driving style to the external conditions so as not to become the victim of accidental circumstances.
The various accidents on Sunday are a warning example for all motorcyclists and moped drivers in the region. They show us that weather conditions, especially in the changeable months, should not be underestimated. Every driver is responsible for making himself and his machine fit for all weather conditions before daring to the street.
