In a dramatic traffic accident in downtown Mannheim, five people were injured on Thursday evening, including one. Shortly before midnight, a 21-year-old man with his BMW raced over a red traffic light at the Luisen ring. He collided violently with a Mercedes that properly turned into a side street in green light. The impact was so violent that the Mercedes was thrown against a parked VW.

Both drivers and the occupants were injured and had to be cared for by a doctor. The BMW and the Mercedes are no longer ready to drive after the crash and were towed. The police have started the investigation into the course of the accident, while the exact amount of damage is still unclear.
