On Friday morning, a tragic accident occurred on Zschopauer Strasse. A 20-year-old driver of a VW small transporter collided with an 89-year-old man who was crossing the street. The impact was so violent that the older driver fell to the ground and suffered serious injuries.

The property damage on the small van is estimated at around 5,000 euros. Due to the investigation, Zschopauer Straße had to be completely closed until around 10:45 a.m. The police are now urgently looking for witnesses who can provide information on the course of the accident or to switch to traffic lights at the time of the collision.
