Heavy -suffering controls: Police stops overloaded truck in the Hunsrück!

In the area of ​​Wittlich and in the Hunsrück, two truck trains had to be stopped by the police on Wednesday. The first affected transport, a Dutch wooden transporter on the way to a sawmill, was overloaded and had dangerous defects on the trailer. A crossbar was massively damaged and another was loose. The onward journey was temporarily prohibited because the spruce tribes had to be reloaded. In addition to a warning due to overloading, the driver and the company threaten fines.

In the afternoon, another Dutch truck train was targeted by the officials. This exceeded the permissible total length of 18.75 meters by 45 centimeters and was heavier with 44 tons than the permitted 40 tons. Here too, violations of the steering and rest periods were found. Since there was no exemption for the exceedance, the onward journey also had to be prohibited. The truck train was only allowed to continue the next morning after partial discharge and adjustments to the drawbar. Both drivers have to expect fine procedures, and the companies could also feel consequences.
