Security in Lübeck Central Station: Police checked weapons laws!

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, the police and federal police officers at Lübeck main station carried out extensive checks to check the ban on weapons and knives in public transport that has been in effect since October 2024. These measures apply to all means of transport in local public transport, underpinned by a state regulation that has come into force since the end of December 2024.

In the missions, the officials came across a man who carried an irritant sprayer with him, and another procedure was initiated against another man who had a whipping ring with him - a clear violation of the weapon law. The aim of the controls is to minimize potential dangers from weapons in public space. The police will continue to carry out regular and event-independent checks at train stations and stops in Schleswig-Holstein in order to increase safety in the public transport network.
