Security in Wittlich: Police hears citizens and increasingly presence!

The police in Wittlich plans to increase security in the city center. As part of a citizens' dialogue, residents had the opportunity to discuss their concerns and perceptions on security -related topics directly with the police officers and the city mayor. Many citizens reported an unpleasant feeling of security in certain places, especially in terms of traffic offenses and property damage.

In response to these concerns, the police will show more presence on selected days and specifically monitor places that are perceived as problematic. Police Councilor Romy Berger emphasizes: "We take the concerns of the population seriously and want to improve the subjective feeling of security in the city." These measures are supported by a round table "Security and Prevention in Wittlich", which was founded in autumn 2024 and should design further initiatives for security promotion.
