Security alarm in Gießen: Almost half of the children without a belt!

As part of the European Action Week "Roadpol Seatbelt", the regional traffic service Gießen carried out rigorous controls on belt obligation, whereby the focus was particularly on the correct securing of children. From Monday, March 10th to Friday, March 14th, control campaigns at schools and kindergartens in Garbenteich, Linden-Großen-Linden, Langgöns, Lollar, Reiskirchen and Pohlheim Watzenborn-Steinberg were carried out. Mobile controls in the Gießen urban area were also on the agenda.

The results are alarming: Almost half of all children checked were not strapped! This led to 14 criminal complaints. In addition, other traffic violations such as mobile phone use at the wheel as well as red light and loading effects were punished. The police are already planning further controls to increase security on the streets.
