Sprener-suspect in Schöneberg: E-scooter driver arrested!

In a dramatic night in Schöneberg, a 33-year-old man was arrested after carrying out an explosive object during a traffic control. At around 1:50 a.m., he noticed police officers when he ran a red traffic light with an electric scooter. Despite his escape, he could finally be stopped on Baden's street, where the emergency services discovered the alarming find in his backpack. The police locked the surrounding streets for security and won specialists to examine the potentially dangerous object.

The investigation showed that the man was already known to the police. During a subsequent search of his e-scooter and his apartment, further explosive substances and suspected narcotics were found. Two residential buildings were temporarily evacuated, but luckily the second object turned out to be suspicious, so that the tenants could return. The arrested person is still presented to an investigative court to apply for an arrest warrant. The investigation by a special commissioner of the State Criminal Police Office continues to run in full swing.
