Rising crimes at the Spring Festival: Police draws mixed balance sheet
Stuttgart, Deutschland - The Stuttgart police take a mixed balance sheet shortly before the end of the 85th spring festival. The reported offenses rose by 17 percent to 316 cases compared to the previous year. The increase in violent acts against police officers is particularly worrying: these rose from 7 to 21, while the attacks on police officers also increased from 4 to 8 cases. Fortunately, the officers' injuries remained easy.
On the other hand, the decline in sex crimes is positive: these fell from 20 cases in the previous year to only 13 this year. At the same time, the number of violations of the weapons law rose drastically from 8 to 49 cases, which underlines the effectiveness of police controls. However, it should be noted that the comparison with the previous year is restricted by differences in the number of visits due to the Easter holidays. Parallel events such as concerts were without special occurrences, thanks to the excellent cooperation of all emergency services.
