On Monday afternoon, an 86-year-old woman from Willich was stolen her wallet on brewery street. The senior citizen first visited the 'Stinges' branch, where she stowed her wallet in her handbag after shopping. When she wanted to pay at 'Takko' a little later, the wallet had already disappeared.

The police warn that pickpockets are particularly active in narrow shops and overcrowded sales stands. A short moment of inattentiveness is often enough - be it through a shout or a banal question - and the wallet is gone. In order to protect themselves, the police recommend that they carry valuables close to the body, keep their distance from strangers and only take the bare essentials for shopping. The warning is clear: never let your valuables out of sight!
