Persection hunt ends tragically: man dies in the event of an accident in Tempelhof
In a tragic incident in Tempelhof, a 27-year-old man died this morning in a traffic accident. The police wanted to check the driver of a small van around 4:30 a.m. in Schildhornstrasse after discovering an obviously stolen motorcycle. Instead of stopping, the driver raced away at over 100 km/h and fled over the BAB 103 and BAB 100.
The police broke off the persecution when the fleeting at the Alboinstraße exit turned off the motorway and continued on Schöneberger Straße. Tragically, he crashed into a traffic light mast at the intersection to Manteuffelstrasse and was thrown out of the vehicle. Despite quick rescue measures, the man succumbed to his serious injuries before the paramedics arrived. The area was cordoned off for the investigation of the traffic accident command of Police Directorate 3.
