Traffic debacle in Kaiserslautern: Police stops racers and cell phone sinners!
A 30-year-old van driver was targeted on Thursday morning in Ludwigstrasse during a traffic control when he used his cell phone while driving. During the check, it turned out that the loading area of his vehicle was overloaded with unsecured boxes and utensils. He was only allowed to continue his journey after he had properly secured everything.
On Thursday afternoon, a 19-year-old moped driver in Barbarossastraße caused excitement when he noticed at a speed of over 50 km/h. A review showed that his moped can actually drive up to 68 km/h fast, which could lead to a criminal complaint. An 18-year-old e-scooter driver in Ludwigstrasse was also unlucky: he was stopped because his scooter was traveling with an expired insurance license plate. The police investigated for driving without insurance coverage and prohibited him from continuing.
