On Thursday, April 24, 2025, the Saarbrücken-Stadt police inspection carried out strict controls in the city's prohibitions on weapons. Two men were discovered among almost 50 police officers during a person check that had a total of several dozen grams of cannabis. These are now detained in the Saarbrücken JVA.

Interior Minister Reinhold Jost emphasized the effectiveness of the weapon ban zones and explained that they help to recognize crimes early on and to arrest perpetrators. "Anyone who disregarded our rules and endangers the security of others will be held responsible with all determination," explained Jost and confirmed that a strong police and clear rules take care of security.
