Fats with apples: diverse delicacies in the NABU visitor center Rühstädt!
In the NABU visitor center in Rühstädt, everything recently revolved around the colorful world of apples. At the event "Diversity of the apples", around 15 participants had the opportunity to get to know old apple varieties such as the red -striped yellow sheep's sheep's nose, Boskop and Gloster and prepare their own treats. The organizers estimated that between 20 and 30 kilos of apples were provided by the in -house orchards for processing in juice, mus and chips. The participants, including families and apple fans, were not stuck with enthusiasm and found out about the sustainable use of fruit and the ecological advantages of orchards.
The event started with a trip to the meadow, where the participants listed apples and at the same time learned interesting facts about the wildlife in this habitat. Experts reported that 2024 was a good apple year, and the children were particularly fascinated by the apple cutting machine that helped them make their own apple rings. Jana Werner, a visitor from Tangendorf, expressed that she finally wanted to learn how to process the many apples that are currently falling from the tree.
