Glöwen summer festival 2023: technology, art and lots of fun!
Next Saturday, August 24th, Glöwen will be the scene of the second summer festival, which is organized by the volunteer team under the direction of local mayor Christopher Teschner. This event is under the motto "Summer.Sonnne.Pass" and promises a varied program for the entire community and its guests.
Diversity for all age groups
The festival will not only be a place of gathering, but also an opportunity to support and enjoy local dealers. On Saturday morning, the retailers will arrive for the antique and flea market from 7 a.m. The event already attracts a large number of sellers who are interested in presenting their goods. According to Teschner, the number of registrations is already over the previous year. Expressions of interest are still possible, the market dealers are invited to report spontaneously on the event day.
Insight into technology and functions
A special highlight this year will be the "Innotruck", which is provided by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. This will open its doors to visitors on Saturday at 4 p.m. and give insights into modern technologies. The truck introduces technological innovations and serves as a learning platform that can also address young people. This is particularly important because it can raise awareness of technical professions and innovative solutions.
Culinary highlights and artistic performances
To strengthen the festival visitors, the Glöwen volunteer fire brigade will offer breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., which is to enrich the morning with freshly prepared dishes. After that, the Holtz showman will supply the guests with a variety of culinary offers. In addition, a table tennis tournament and a sawmill of the Kuhblank sawmill are waiting for visitors on Saturday afternoon. Here the exhibitors can show how to create works of art out of wood.
Entertainment for the whole family
For the youngest, there are various active stations and trips with the fire brigade from 8 a.m. At 3 p.m. the trombone choir provides musical accompanying and the "Summerbeats Party" provides dance and party mood with DJ Bennybounce and the live band "Lukas and the World".
Meaning of the summer festival for the community
The summer festival is not only a celebration, but also a platform to strengthen the community, to promote local products and services and to support technical education. Such events are crucial for social life in rural communities such as Glöwen, as they help promote cohesion and offer people a way to network and support each other.
