A remarkable section in Harald Schmitt's life has ended. After more than 50 years, shaped by passion, dedication and a remarkable feeling for the hospitality industry, the hotel director of Fleesensee Castle said goodbye to well -deserved retirement. There he not only leaves big footsteps, but also sustainable changes that have an effect on the walls far beyond the walls.
Schmitt began his career at the age of 15 in the Kurhotel Mittertal and from there made his way through the well -filled halls of the star gas string. Among the first stations were some of the best Restaurants in Germany, including the legendary Aubergine restaurant, where he worked under the guidance of Eckard Witzigmann, the first German cook with three Michelin stars. Schmitt distinguished this character, combined with his creativity and his innovation strike, and paved his way into the top ranks of the catering.

Culinary events such as the annual "kitchen party" and the "lobster number" enjoyed great popularity and attracted guests from near and far.
2023 Schmitt implemented an extraordinary project with the wine growing. Together with the winegrower Theo Kind from Nierstein, the foundation stone for the first regional wine was laid on a hectare country in the Mecklenburg Lake District. In the coming years, a first -class sparkling wine will be produced here, which will bring the tradition of wine growing back in this region. This personal heart project will now continue to accompany Schmitt in retirement.
Another highlight in Schmitt's career was the foundation of the Fleesensee Rösterei and the pastaria & noodle factory, which promotes growing enthusiasm for local specialties and high -quality gastronomy. He not only shaped the resort's kitchens, but also revitalized the associated market to bring guests closer to the best local products.
With his resignation, not only his official term of office as managing director ends. The Fleesensee Hotel -Betriebsgesellschaft has already found a successor: Thilo Mühl, who is now on board as the new managing director together with the current managing directors. Mühl brings extensive experience from renowned houses, and his visions for the future of the Fleesensee Resort are also promising. "First of all, I will get a comprehensive overview," says Mühl, "but I also have a few ideas in my head."
The farewell to Schmitt was shaped by many emotions. Numerous companions, including loyal guests from the region, came to show him the last honors. Special highlights were not only the warm words and thanks for his tireless work, but also some cannon shots that paid his life's work to his life's work.
