E-bike Problems in Ravensburg and Weingarten: Difficulties in TWS rental due to partner companies bankruptcy

The e-bike rental systems in Ravensburg and Weingarten are currently facing challenges due to disorders. The cause lies in the bankruptcy of a partner of the Technical Works Schussental (TWS), which was responsible for the loan software and repairs of the bikes.

a fight with software problems

The TWS reports particularly with the app, which is used to borrow e-bikes. Free -time booking often does not work as desired when returning the wheels. In such cases, customers should still park the wheel at a loan station, contact the TWS and provide details such as the date, time, station and bike number. The TWS then ends the paid loan via remote access and writes any additional times in the system.

maintenance by new partner company

The Technical Works Schussental operate the loan stations, but a company from Aachen was previously responsible for the software and repairs of the bikes. Due to the bankruptcy of this company, there is now a lack of staff to maintain the bikes, stations and software. A subsidiary of the insolvent company offers a limited support for maintenance, but is looking for a new partner, as was announced by a TWS spokeswoman.

popular offer for years

The e-bike rental has existed for more than three years. Customers have the option of borrowing pedelecs at a station and returning to any station. The wheels are secured with a frame lock and the batteries automatically charged. The loan takes place digitally via an app or a TWS customer card at the ward. The reservation is also possible by app or on the PC up to 15 minutes before the loan. The offer is very popular, companies also use it more for their employees by providing rental stations on their premises.
