Nature lovers from the region are cordially invited to take part in an informative excursion to Reichermoos at Vogt on Sunday, July 28th. This event, which is organized by the BUND Ravensburg-Weingarten, not only offers an exciting view of the unique flora and fauna of the raised bog, but also throws a light on the important history of peat mining in the region.

Under the direction of Peter Sonntag, a former district hunter master, the participants experience the variety of the raised bog. During the approximately three -hour hike, visitors are not only informed about the environment, but also about the effects of peat mining on the ecosystem. Peat is still dismantled today and is used in Upper Swabian bathing drives, which underlines the relevance and the continuous influence of this tradition.

The tour starts at 2 p.m. at the old peat plant in Reichermoos. In order to be able to fully enjoy the attractive landscape, sturdy shoes are recommended, and the weather -adapted clothing should also be taken into account. Participation in the excursion costs five euros per person, while admission is free for federal members as well as children and young people.
