Deadly dispute in front of a supermarket in Ravensburg: Asylum seekers in custody

An incident in Ravensburg caused horror on Friday evening when a dispute between two asylum seekers escalated and had fatal consequences. The shocking incident occurred in front of a supermarket where a 25-year-old man from Somalia was injured by a knife attack. According to reports, the two men who had already clashed in a refugee accommodation the evening before were advised for the second time.

The dispute between the Somalier and a 31-year-old Gambier started shortly after 7 p.m. and ended tragically. The older man was accused of seriously injured the 25-year-old with a knife. Despite a quick intervention by the rescue workers who brought the Somalier to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries in the evening.

Investigations and arrests

A randomly passing police patrol was able to arrest the suspect at the scene. The police in Ravensburg announced that the 31-year-old was brought before the judge and is now in custody. The circumstances that led to this tragic incident are still unclear, and the criminal commissioner Ravensburg has taken over the investigation.

It is particularly noteworthy that the 25-year-old reported the gambier the day before in the refugee accommodation with a knife before the situation escalated again on Friday evening. This raises questions about security within the refugee accommodation and shows how tensions in such environments can quickly get out of control.

another dispute in Wendlingen

On the same day, there was also a violent incident in Wendlingen, in the Esslingen district. Here two Gambian residents of a refugee accommodation got into a dispute in which a 34-year-old man threatened his 27-year-old compatriot with a bread knife and an ax. The younger man was slightly injured.

Because of the potentially dangerous situation, several police patrols and a police dog handler relay moved to clarify the situation. The older man was initially arrested, but after the police measures have been completed again. The man hit received outpatient treatment. These incidents throw a worrying light on the manners and security conditions in refugee accommodation.

The police in Ravensburg are under pressure in both cases to provide clear answers and to research the causes of such violent arguments. Dealing with aggressive conflicts and the security of the residents in accommodation are central issues that have to be examined even further.
