Fight for the jungle - Ranger vs. Wilderer and overexploitation

threatened primeval forests - an international struggle for nature conservation

The threat of primeval forests is an alarming problem worldwide. The Schwarz-Kiefer-Urwald in the Durmitor National Park in Montenegro is one of the last major primeval forests in Europe and a natural jewel in a breathtaking canyon. But this jungle is in danger because it is exposed to a variety of threats, including poaching and uncontrolled tourism.

Mican Kasalica, a long -time ranger in the Durmitor National Park, has been passionate about the protection of this unique nature for over 20 years. The park extends over 34,000 hectares and is home to a diverse vegetation of over 2000 meters of altitude. However, this natural labyrinth is increasingly threatened by poachers who ignore the impossibility of nature.

A ray of hope in this fight is the support of Lukas Schmidt, a ranger from the Black Forest National Park in Baden-Württemberg. He has set himself the goal of establishing a European networking of the rangers in order to strengthen the protection of the primeval forests. Thanks to its engagement, an official partnership between the Black Forest and Durmitor National Parks is created.

This international cooperation is crucial to combat the threats to the primeval forests and to preserve their unique beauty for future generations. It is a fight against overexploitation and poaching, but also a struggle for the preservation of the natural diversity and the preservation of the last primeval forests in Europe.
