Milestone in Remscheid: Sculpture of the Jewish artist is created!

On the Quimperplatz in Remscheid, the excavators roll: The association commemorative and educational institution horse stable prepares the construction of an impressive sculpture by the Jewish artist Gad Frank. The foundation has been created since Monday that will weigh 36 tons! In just two weeks, the base for the over six meter high work of art will be created, which is reminiscent of the dark chapters of history. Gad's last draft was created shortly before his death in December 2022, and his son Eyal ensures that the model is implemented in steel.

The small park on Quimperplatz has proven to be the ideal location for the monument-a place of reconciliation between Remscheid and the terrible memories of the Nazi era. Originally hindered from reserved, 15 authorities have decided on the location. Now it is only to be hoped that the 70,000 euros required for the project will come together entirely through donations in order to appropriately celebrate Gad Frank's legacy.
