Traffic chaos in Kiel: Machines and construction sites paralyze drivers!

On January 28, 2025, the traffic situation in Kiel and the surrounding area is characterized by construction sites and accidents. This is reported by the Kieler Nachrichten . Constained information is reported in particular on highways such as the A7, A20, A21, A210 and A215 as well as the federal highways B76, B77, B205, B404 and B430.

According to the ADAC, traffic jams often occur on the A1 and A7, especially at tourist peak times. The construction site on the B76 (Theodor-Heuss-Ring), which has been active since March 12, 2023, will probably result in a single-track traffic management by autumn 2024. There are also several traffic jams in the Rendsburg area, including through sewers and height controls on the Kanaltunnel Rendsburg, as well as traffic jams on the B77 and A210.

Especially on the Rader Hochbrücke, the A7 is susceptible to traffic jams. Other affected roads are the B203 between Rendsburg and Eckernförde, the A7 am Bordesholmer Dreieck and the B206 in Bad Segeberg. The main areas of accident in Kiel are the Waldwiesen crossing, the intersections Kaistraße-Stresemannplatz, Ostring-Konrad-Adenauer-Damm, Westring-Gutenbergstraße and Theodor-Heuss-Ring.

On the highways, especially on the Bordesholmer Dreieck (A215/A7), between Segeberg and in Bad Segeberg are calculated with frequent accidents. The fuel prices in Schleswig-Holstein are on the average of Germany, with the Segeberg district being more expensive. There are no environmental zones in Schleswig-Holstein.
