Three rear -end collisions on the BAB 6: two injured and high property damage

traffic accidents on Autobahn 6 require injured and high damage

Last Saturday afternoon, several rear-end collisions occurred on Autobahn 6 in the Rhein-Neckar district, which led to considerable consequences. Between the Wiesloch/Rauenberg and the Walldorf motorway junction, a total of three accidents occurred within 30 minutes, in which three vehicles were involved. The accidents occurred in the construction site area and led to injuries and considerable property damage.

Two people were slightly injured in the accidents, while two more serious injuries suffered. The total damage is estimated at around 120,000 euros, which is due to the collision of several vehicles. Due to the large number of accidents and injuries, the rescue and salvage work were elaborate and required a comprehensive use of emergency services.

The Mannheim police headquarters were on site with three vehicles, while the Wiesloch volunteer fire brigade provided support with three emergency vehicles. The ambulance service was used with four ambulances, an emergency doctor and a rescue helicopter. The severity of the injuries required the use of the rescue helicopter, which had to temporarily block the road towards Mannheim.

The exact cause of the rear -end collisions is currently being examined by the authorities in order to determine possible responsibilities and to take potential measures to improve traffic safety.
