Dispute over weapon purchase: police chief and plaintiffs achieve comparison!

Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Deutschland - The West Palatinate Police Headquarters has agreed to a comparison by the Neustadt Administrative Court, which was achieved between the former chairman of the entire staff council, Uwe Leitheiser, and the police authority. This comparison proposal, which was sent on October 8, 2024, aims to maintain the interests of both sides as best as possible. A corresponding acceptance letter was sent to the court on Friday.

Police President Hans Kästner expressed gratitude for the compromise and emphasized the importance of a constructive solution to terminate the procedure. The background to the argument is allegations against Leiteriser from April 2022, which resulted in a ban on leading the service business due to the suspicion of illegal purchase of weapons. The police headquarters had previously rejected a first proposal, including because of the health of the former police chief.
