Autumn experiences in Prien: hikes and delicacies
In the picturesque community of Prien am Chiemsee, in the Rosenheim district, both locals and visitors enjoy the golden autumn with a variety of activities that promote the interaction of nature, culinary and relaxation. The guided hikes and events are particularly popular, which put the attraction of the region in the foreground.
One of the highlights is the Bergerlebreistour "Alm-Leben" on Friday, September 13th. The hiking guide Susi Kostiers accompanies a handful of participants - between five and a maximum of twelve people - on the Chiemgau local mountain, the Kampenwand. After an impressive hike of about five hours, including breaks, the hikers reach the Schlechtenberg Alm. There not only awaits you a fantastic view of Prien and the Chiemsee, but also the opportunity to fortify yourself with regional specialties such as the self-produced alpine cheese. This tour is planned again for October 11th, with a price of 20 euros per person. Interested parties should register in advance to secure a place.
relaxing forest bathing experience
On Saturday, October 12th, there is a completely different experience on the program: Under the direction of the certified course instructor for Waldbaden, Andrea Stephan, the participants discover the healing atmosphere of the forest. Waldbaden, also known as Shinrin Yoku, is a method for health promotion developed in Japan in the 1980s and is also increasingly becoming popular in this country. During the two and a half hour program on the edge of the 100-year-old tree giant forest near Herrnberg, the participants experience a connection to nature through body, breathing and mindfulness exercises. This careful immersion in nature costs 23 euros, with a discount for locals and guests with guest card. Registration is necessary and can be made in the Prien tourist office.
The wonderful surroundings of Prien are also explored on a culinary delight tour, which is led by the enthusiastic tour guide Helga Schömmer. On Thursday, October 17th, the tour begins at 9:30 a.m. in the community's tourist office. The participants have the opportunity to put together a "Priener Tascherl" from small delicacies from local direct marketers. Under the motto "From Boudin Blanc to Puddl at the finest", an autumnal journey through the town center, in which delicacies are served at several stations. This tour takes about three hours and costs 25 euros per person. Here, too, a timely registration is required because the number of participants is limited.
For everyone who wants to experience the autumn colors and the rich nature of Prien on Lake Chiemsee, the activities in this charming community offer an excellent opportunity to connect with the surroundings and to discover the region's delicacies.
