Norman Kander impresses at DATEV Challenge Roth 2024 as a long distance debut
Norman Kadner triumphs in epic long distance triathlon in Roth
On July 14th this year the 40th edition of the Datev Challenge Roth took place in the Franconian city of Roth. This legendary event, which is known as the Mecca of the long-distance triathlon, attracted more than 3,000 participants, including the Athlete Norman Kadner from TLV Eichenzell.
After intensive 36 weeks of preparation with over 2,000 kilometers, 5,000 kilometers of cycling and 180 kilometers swimming, Kadner stood up to the ultimate triathlon experience. Despite his lack of experience in swimming, he ended the 3.8 km long stage in the Main-Donau Canal in remarkable 1:23 hours
On the challenging 180 km long bike course through the picturesque Franconian landscape, Kadner showed an impressive performance by reaching an average speed of over 36 km/h and mastering the route in just 4:54 hours. He covered the final marathon in less than 3:10 hours.
With a total time of 9 hours and 34 minutes, Kadner crossed the finish line full of exhaustion, but proud of his performance, the finish line and received the deserved applause of the spectators in the Roth stadium. His impressive debut on the long distance brought him the 480th place in the overall ranking and the excellent 78th place in his age group.
The atmosphere of the DATEV Challenge Roth was electrifying, thanks to the support of more than 7,500 volunteers and thousands of enthusiastic spectators along the route. The notorious Solarer Berg in particular proved to be the highlight again where professionals, amateurs and fans came together and experienced emotional moments.
The outstanding success of Norman Kadner in his first long distance triathlon in Roth reminds us that great goals can be achieved with hard work and determination. His performance is not only recognized by the triathlon enthusiasts, but also by the entire sports community.
