Reading with Nadja Beinert: Discovery of the true Marilyn Monroe in St. Wendel
In the heart of St. Wendel, a special event will take place on Thursday, September 19, the literature and the fascinating life will bring together one of the greatest film icons in history. Nadja Beinert, a talented writer, is expected in the 2024 women's culture days in the city and district library.
This reading is not the first time that the leg sisters appear in St. Wendel. Already in 2018 they visited the city with their book about Lenchen Demuth. Since then, the two authors have produced a number of other historical novels that often deal with strong female characters.
A look at Marilyn Monroe
Her latest novel "Marilyn and the stars of Hollywood" is devoted to the remarkable career of young Norma Jean Baker, who later became famous as Marilyn Monroe. The story not only illuminates the loneliness of her childhood, but also her escape into the dream world of the film. The canvases of this time became important role models for them. But to become the radiant Hollywood icon, Norma Jean had to emancipate himself from the strict social norms of her time. Despite her overwhelming success, she often suffered from the clichéd image of the naive and simple -minded blonde.
Beinert shows that Marilyn's career and her achievements as an actress only really recognized after her early death, the circumstances of which remain puzzling to this day. The novel deals intensively with these aspects and illuminates the less well -known appearance of the actress.
The sisters are known for their meticulous research. In the past over ten years, they have written historical novels together and have always followed the actual events in their stories. This accuracy makes it possible to take a multifaceted and realistic view of the characters they portray.
The event starts at 7:30 p.m., and for a small entry of 5 euros, literary enthusiasts can take part in this exciting reading. Tickets are available in advance and for reservation in the city and district library in the Mia-Münster-Haus, by phone at (0 68 51) 809-1940 or by email at library@sankt-wendel.de.
