Massive workplace reduction in Saarbrücken: IG Metall fights for ZF positions!

In the ZF plant in Saarbrücken it is bubbling! Unfortunately, the alarming messages about a possible loss of job have been confirmed. By the end of 2025, 1,800 jobs are to be canceled, with a possible increase to up to 4,500 jobs by 2028 if the order situation is not improved. "The employees have convinced through enormous flexibility, and now they are withdrawn from trust," explains Patrick Selzer from IG Metall Saarbrücken. The disappointment and anger of the workforce are tangible because a company with such a profitable past faces enormous challenges.

The plans are part of the nationwide mining of up to 14,000 jobs already announced in July. ZF wants to implement the downsizing personnel as a socially acceptable as possible through partial retirement and fluctuation. Nevertheless, the workforce feels abandoned by the corporate management, while IG Metall makes it clear: "We will not accept the job loss without a fight!" The union is ready to take all the necessary steps to defend the rights of employees. "It can start at any time!" Wiwww.n-tv.de reports .
