Spectacular incident on BAB 9: metal plates provide chaos!

on Wednesday evening, October 9, 2024, a spectacular traffic accident with several vehicles occurred on the BAB 9 motorway between Wolfen and Halle (Saale). A 22-year-old truck driver lost two massive metal plates that fell on the road and led to a collision. The 50-year-old driver of an Audi and the 40-year-old BMW driver could not avoid and crashed into the dangerous obstacles. Two other truck drivers also got into the dangerous situation when they drove over the middle lane on the metal parts.

The episodes were serious: the BAB 9 had to be completely closed from 9:44 p.m. to 10:25 p.m. while the vehicles were recovered. Fortunately, it remained without injuries, but the property damage amounts to around 4,000 euros. A fine procedure is now expecting the responsible driver of the Scania - a clear indication that security on the street has a top priority!
