St.-Josef-Straße, 39104 Magdeburg, Deutschland - An 83-year-old woman from St.-Josef-Straße has been the victim of a sophisticated telephone fraud! Around 12:30 p.m. she received a call from a supposed doctor who told her a shocking story: a family member should be involved in a serious accident in which a woman and two children were injured. In order to prevent the alleged detention of her relative, the senior wife was asked to pay a deposit of 50,000 euros.

Since she was unable to raise this amount, it agreed on a lower five -digit sum. At around 2:30 p.m. she met the unknown perpetrator on a street corner and handed over the cash. Only after she spoke to her family about 90 minutes later and the alleged incident never took place, did she suspect and turned to the police. This has now initiated investigations and is looking for witnesses to the crime. The fraudster is about 30 years old, 1.70 meters tall and described with black, curly hair. The police urgently warn against such trick frauds and call up the population, especially older people, for vigilance!
